CAREER
With a history as a visual communicator and problem solver, I'm passionate about brand stewardship, data-driven decision-making, and audience impression. I live by the philosophy that if design — be it digital, print, or fabrication — doesn't resonate with its intended market, doesn't really "work", then it doesn't matter how pretty it is.
And yes, while we UXers love to promote practicality, we all still want pretty things. In fact, aesthetics are so inherently delightful to humans, it might as well be just as important as any user/audience logic or business objective. To me, giving "form" a seat at the table and balancing it with "function" is key to successful products and campaigns.
As I kept those nuggets of truth tucked away in my back pocket, I’ve grown conditioned to keep these at the forefront: understand the audience and ensure their experience is logical, impactful, accessible, and actionable; incorporate business goals while preserving the integrity of the brand; and create compelling designs.
Now a multi-disciplined Senior Graphic Designer & UX Designer with experience as a grassroots community leader and Director of the Jacksonville Bicycle Coalition, I have led teams, established brands, improved experiences, sold value, and have developed an affinity for data quality and democratization. I harness AI for content development as needed, but inevitably apply a generous amount of manual editing to smack back generics in the name of brand voice, human-centered work, and cleverness. I'm fortunate and grateful to be able to say none of my illustrations or logos have a single instance of AI generated assistance. I have never been afraid to wear multiple hats — it has served me well in career fulfillment, and my employers well in lean, agile production. My ego and subjectivity are left at the door knowing everything I make doesn't really belong to me, as it will always belong to the audience.
Embracing my drive for curiosity, I've acquired a wide range of skills such as creative direction, brand development, graphic design, UX/UI design, strategic marketing and customer experience, HTML/CSS email coding, SharePoint site development, photography, illustration, motion graphics, generative AI prompting, content development, copywriting, and editing.

PERSONAL
I have a lifelong background in the fine arts but became a Designer to be able to do cool things like eat and pay bills. Someday, I’d love to teach figure drawing to other Creatives while living a peaceful, mortgage-free life surrounded by sketchbooks.
Some of my pre-career jobs include printmaker, bartender & server, and lube technician. I grew up on the Space Coast, then migrated a bit — VA, IL, NH. Moved back to FL because New England art schools are too expensive. Graduated from college bursting with so much creative energy and just as much student loan debt. Then developed an insatiable desire to soak up clever logos, and a deep aversion to spending money.
My favorite pastimes are figure drawing, riding bikes, outdoorsing, lifting heavy things, playing pool, basketball, photography, and hanging out with friends while tackling our to-dos together.

I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida.
